You probably have heard this quote or a variation of it, ‘You don’t know what you got until you don’t have it anymore.” I would like to add another sentence to it, “Or until you see and experience someone who does not have what you have.”

The Lambda Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi and the Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma was able to experience this a little bit. With the help of volunteers, we were able to play a little pep rally for the kids at the Kidney Walk in Gulley Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Kidney Walk happens annual and supports people with kidney disease, mostly are little children. It was a great experience to see all the people that helped and supported this event. We played the tradition songs that you hear at the football games. We played some of our halftime show. Ronnie Brewer Jr. was there with his support. He took pictures and autographs with everyone. He even took a picture with the us!! He shook everyone’s hand and thanked us for supporting this.

At the end of the event, we had many people thanking us for coming out. But, truthfully, it was a great eye opening experience for everyone. It was a something that none of us will forget.
